The Chilliwack Society for Community Living ("CSCL") supports adult with developmental disabilities and children with special needs. CSCL supports over 300 individuals in the following service areas:
Adult Day Services.
Adult Day Services provides small group and individualized activities in the areas of life skills enhancement, community access, volunteering, recreation and leisure for adults of all ages at multiple sites in the community.
Community housing is provided in partnership with individuals. These services are designed to assist the individuals to achieve success in and satisfaction with community living. They may be temporary or long-term in nature. The services are focused on home and community integration and engagement in productive activities. Community housing enhances the independence, dignity, personal choice, and privacy of the persons served.

Childrens Services.
Children’s Services provides community-based recreational programs, life skills training and one-to-one Child & Youth Care Workers for children and youth between the ages of 6-18 years of age. To access any of these services, your child must be referred by a Social Worker from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD). We provide programs after school hours, on weekends & during the summer months. Here is a breakdown of the programs we offer…
Kidz Club (6-12 year olds) à After School Program (Tuesday-Friday). Staff pick up your child from their school (typically 1 day/week). Children participate in ‘fun’ activities with their peers – focusing on relationship building, friendships, community access and FUN!
Summer Fun Program (6-12 year olds) à Integrated Summer Day Camp Program. Children typically attend 2-3 days/week.
Teen Clubs (13-18 year olds) à After School Clubs (Monday-Saturday). Examples of some of the clubs that we offer: Cooking club, Lifeskills club, Drama club, Pre-Employment club, Recreational club, etc. Teens typically attend 2-3 days/week.
Summer Teen Program (13-18 year olds) à We offer programs during the summer months for our 13-18 year olds. Examples of some of the programs we offer during the summer months are: Hiking program, Cooking program, Drama program, Recreational program, Photography program, etc.
1:1 Child & Youth Care Support Workers (6-18 year olds) à A Child & Youth Support Worker will work with your child to achieve specific goals that you would like them to work on or build on. Each 1:1 contract typically runs for 4 hours/week and continues for up to 2 years.

Respite Services.
Respite Services match adults with an approved, screened, caregiver for short-term respite care; up to a maximum number of days per year.
Supported Employment provides opportunities for individuals to obtain real work for real pay. Services include job development, jobsite training and job supports. For more information please click here.
